Oklahoma Sales Associate Licensing Requirements

In order to earn your first Oklahoma real estate license, you’ll need to:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a U.S. citizen or qualified alien
  • Take 90 hours of real estate education in a course approved by the OREC 
  • Comply with all application procedures, including fingerprinting and background check
  • Pass the state and national portions of the licensing exam 
  • Be associated with a licensed sponsoring broker

To become a sales associate in Oklahoma, you must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or qualified alien, complete 90 hours of real estate education approved by the OREC, and comply with all application procedures, including fingerprinting and background check. In addition, you must pass the state and national portions of the licensing exam.
The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission requires 90 hours of pre-licensing education from a state-approved real estate school.
The Oklahoma real estate exam contains multiple-choice questions. In total, there are 40 questions on the state portion and 80 questions on the national portion.
There is no limit. You can retake the Oklahoma real estate licensing exam as many times as you need. If you do not pass the exam within one year of registering, you will need to resubmit your application and pay the exam fee per each attempt.
You must score at least a 70% (scaled) to pass the Oklahoma real estate exam. You have 90 minutes to complete the state portion and 150 minutes for the national portion.
