Here are the steps to earn your Massachusetts license with Kaplan’s guidance:
- Be a U.S. citizen who is 18 years or older and pass a background check
- Complete 40 hours of Massachusetts real estate licensing education
- Complete and submit a real estate salesperson license application that includes 3 candidate endorsements
- Pass the Massachusetts real estate exam within 2 years of completing your education
- Step 2: After you have obtained your Massachusetts real estate license, you must take an additional Rhode Island-specific course, a 3-hour Lead Poisoning/Lead Hazard Mitigation course, and provide a certificate of completion with your application
- Step 3: Obtain a Certificate of Errors and Omissions Insurance, a criminal history record from both Rhode Island and your home state, and a Letter of Good Standing from your home state’s licensing authority
- Step 4: Apply for reciprocity with the state of Rhode Island
