Broker Prelicensing Education Requirements
- Be 18 years old
- Provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent
- Complete 150 hours of education to include:
- 30 hours—Real Estate Law
- 30 hours—Oregon Real Estate Practice
- 30 hours—Real Estate Finance
- 15 hours—Contracts
- 15 hours—Agency Law
- 10 hours—Property Management
- 20 hours—Brokerage Management
- As described in OAR 863-022-0010
- 30 hours—Real Estate Law
- Pass the state and national exam
- Complete background check and submit fingerprints
- Pay applicable fee

Principal Real Estate Broker Pre licensing Education Requirements
- Be 18 years old
- Provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent
- Have three years of active real estate license experience
- Complete the 40-hour Broker Administration and Sales Supervision course (BASS) from a certified continuing education provider
- Apply for a license, and pay the $300.00 nonrefundable fee
- Pass the state and national exam
- Pass background check
- Choose to work under:
- An existing registered business name—the principal broker of the business must log in and add your license to the business
- Your own registered business name
- An existing registered business name—the principal broker of the business must log in and add your license to the business
Broker and Principal Broker First Renewal Education Requirements
- Renewals are done online through ELicense
- Licensees must keep a certificate of attendance for three years
- Must complete the three-hour Law and Rule required course
- Must complete the 27-hour Broker Advanced Practices
Broker and Principal Broker Subsequent Renewal Education Requirements
- Renewals are done online through Elicense
- Licensees must keep certificates of attendance for three years
- Must complete the three-hour Law and Rule required course
- ○ Effective July 1st, 2022 if you are a real estate Broker, principal broker, or property manager renewing your active license or reactivating your license, you are required to complete a 3-Hour Law and Rule Required Course (LARRC) containing instruction in state and national fair housing laws as part of your continuing education.
