Real Estate Salesperson Prelicensing Education Requirements 10.1.2021 and After
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide certificates of completions for the following:
- Proof of pre-licensing education by certified transcripts or certificates. A total of 120 hours is required to include:
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Law (must include 18 hours Nevada Law)
- 15 hours or 1 college credit in contracts in real estate transactions to the extent allowed in the capacity of the licensee
- 15 hours or 1 college credit in agency which must include 3 hours of foundation of relationship between broker and agents and 3 hours of risk reduction
- Proof of pre-licensing education by certified transcripts or certificates. A total of 120 hours is required to include:
- Pre-licensing education from another state may be accepted. Please see reciprocity document
- Fingerprint Background Waiver: Your fingerprint background waiver must be completed, signed and dated prior to obtaining your fingerprints.
- Fingerprint Cards: Submit the fingerprint verification form issued by an approved Fingerprint Vendor. Fingerprints expire after six (6) months.
- Pass the state and national exam within 12 months
Broker-salesperson PreLicensing Education Requirements 10.1.2021 and After
- Be at least 18 years old
- Your fingerprint background waiver must be completed, signed and dated prior to obtaining your fingerprints.
- Submit the fingerprint verification form issued by an approved Fingerprint Vendor. Fingerprints expire after six (6) months.
- Original state and national passing exam results dated within last 12 months.
- Proof of 120 hours prelicense course completion certificates or 64 semester college verified transcripts
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles or licensed experience
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Law or licensed experience (must include 18 hours Nevada Law provided by a NV school)
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Appraisal course or licensed experience
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Broker Management Course (Nevada specific course)
- 15 college credits in real estate, business, economics or licensed experience
- 15 hours or 1 college credit in contracts in real estate transaction to the extent allowed in the capacity of the licensee
- 15 hours or 1 college credit in agency, which must include 3 hours of foundation of relationship between broker and agents and 3 hours of risk reduction
- 35 college-level units from an accredited college or licensed experience
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles or licensed experience
- Proof of Experience: You may submit a combination of both experience and education transcripts to meet the full 64 semester college credits. College credits must be obtained if experience is not verifiable.
- For every 2 years of real estate license experience, Nevada will allow 16 college credits towards the education components with the exception of the 45-Hour Broker Management and 18-Hour Nevada real estate law courses.
- Experience in two-year increments and granted the following credits: 8 years= 64 credits 4 years= 32 credits, 6 years= 48 credits 2 years=16 credits
- 8 years=64 credits 6 years=48 credits
- 4 years=32 credits 2 years=16 credits
- Must show proof that experience was full-time, and your license is current.Submit the following proof:
- Original certificate history of licensure (history expires after 90 days)
- Form 509 (for experience as a salesman or broker/salesman)
- Experience must be within the past ten years.
- Employing broker at the time must verify experience.
Broker PreLicensing Education Requirements 10.1.2021 and After
- Be at least 18 years old
- Must furnish proof of 2 years of active fulltime experience within the last 4 years
- Proof of pre-licensing education by certified transcripts or certificates.
- Your fingerprint background waiver must be completed, signed and dated prior to obtaining your fingerprints.
- Fingerprint Cards: Submit the fingerprint verification form issued by an approved Fingerprint Vendor. Fingerprints expire after six (6) months.
- Original state and national passing exam results dated within last 12 months.
- Credit report completed within 30 days of application.
- Education Requirements:
- Proof of pre-licensing education by certified transcripts or certificates
- 64 semester college credits required:
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Principles or licensed experience
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Law or licensed experience. (must include 18 hours Nevada law provided by a NV school).
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Real Estate Appraisal course or licensed experience.
- 45 hours or 3 college credits Broker Management Course (Nevada specific course).
- 15 college credits in other real estate related courses such as business, economics, management, accounting, finance, and marketing or licensed experience.
- 15 hours or 1 college credit in contracts in real estate transactions to the extent allowed in the capacity of the licensee.
- 15 hours or 1 college credit in agency which must include 3 hours of foundation of relationship between broker and agents and 3 hours of risk reduction.
- General college level credits from any accredited college or university: Unlicensed first-time applicants: 35 credits
- Proof of experience: You may submit a combination of both experience and education transcripts to meet the full 64 semester college credits. College credits must be obtained if experience is not verifiable.
- For every 2 years of real estate license experience, Nevada will allow 16 college credits towards the education components with the exception of the 45-Hour Broker Management and 18-Hour Nevada real estate law courses.

Salesperson First Renewal Requirements 10.1.2021 and After
- First-time licensees must complete 30 hours of continuing education within the first 12 months of licensure ending on the last day of the month during which the license was obtained.
- 30 Hours Post-Licensing of modules A-O. All Post licensing education must be completed via Live instruction
- (a) Real estate contracts, including the writing and presenting of a purchase agreement and qualifying prospects;
- (b) The listing process, market analysis and inspections;
- (c) Communication, technology and records management, including time management, goal setting and devising a plan of action;
- (d) Buyer representation, including the buyer’s brokerage contract, fiduciary duties, disclosures, cooperation between
- agents and new-home tracts;
- (e) Professional conduct, etiquette and ethics;
- (f) Advertising, including Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act of the Federal Trade Commission issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, 12 C.F.R. Part 226, fair housing, the multiple-listing service, Internet websites and electronic mail;
- (g) Proceeds of sale, costs of sale and cost sheets;
- (h) Agency relationships;
- (i) Land;
- (j) Regulatory disclosures, including disclosures required by federal, state and local governments;
- (k) Property management, but not the management of common-interest communities;
- (l) Escrow, title and closing processes;
- (m) Financing;
- (n) Negotiation; and
- (o) Tax opportunities and liabilities related to the client
Broker-Salesperson First Renewal Requirements 10.31.2021 or After
- 30 Hours Post-Licensing of modules A-O – All Post-Licensing courses must be live instruction
- 6 hours Broker Management – can be live or online

Broker First Renewal Requirements 10.31.21 or After
- 36 hours continuing education consisting of:
- 3 hours Agency
- 6 hours Contracts
- 3 hours Ethics
- 3 hours Law & Legislation
- 3 hours Risk Reduction
- 6 hours Broker management
- 12 hours of General courses. (Business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal; Property Management permit holders must include 9 hours of CE for permit renewal)
- At least 18 of the required 36 hours must be taken through live instruction.
Salesperson Continuing Education Requirements 10.31.2021 or After
- Licensees must complete 36 hours of education every renewal period of two years from the date of issuance
- Must include:
- 3 hours—Agency
- 6 hours—Contracts
- 3 hours—Ethics
- 3 hours—Law and Legislation
- 3 hours—Risk Regulation
- 18 hours of General (business Broker permit holders must include the 3 hours of CE for permit renewal)
- 3 hours—Agency
- At least 18 of the 36 hours must be taken through classroom/live instruction setting
Real Estate Broker and Broker/Salesperson Continuing Education
- Licensees must complete 36 hours of education every renewal period of two years from the date of issuance
- Must include:
- 3 hours—Agency
- 6 hours—Contracts
- 3 hours—Ethics
- 3 hours—Law and Legislation
- 3 hours of Risk Reduction
- 6 hours—Broker Management
- 12 hours—General courses
- 3 hours—Agency
- At least 18 of the 36 hours must be taken through classroom/live instruction setting

- Candidates must bring two forms of current signature identification, primary must be government issued and photo-bearing.
- Candidates should arrive 30 minutes before appointment on exam day.
- Scores for exam are given before leaving the exam site.
- Must retake any failed portions of the exam within 12 months, otherwise must retake the entire exam
