Salesperson Pre-Licensing Education Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Successfully complete 60 hours of education in Principles and Practice of Real Estate in a classroom setting
- Provide original certificate of course completion
- Broker supervision is not required to take the examination
- Submit for background check and fingerprints
- Pass the State and National Exam within one year from enrolling in PSI’s site. After you pass both portions of the examination, within the one-year requirement of eligibility, you have two years from the date of the most recently passed portion to activate your license.

Broker Pre-License Education Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Successfully have completed the mandatory 60 hours of Real Estate Principles and Practices classroom course. As of January, 1, 2014, real estate salespersons who had completed a mandatory 30-hour Real Estate Principles and Practice course in the past must retake the FULL 60 hour Real Estate Principles and Practices course to qualify.
- Successfully complete mandatory 15 hours Real Estate Brokerage Principles and Practices classroom course
- Successfully complete mandatory 15 hour Legal Compliance classroom course
- Successfully complete two 15-hour pre-license elective courses, OR one 30-hour pre-license appraisal/pre-license elective course, OR provide evidence of successful completion of at least 20 real estate transactions in the previous 5 years. A transaction is defined as a legal transfer of real estate property or execution of a lease agreement.
- Actively engaged as a licensed real estate salesperson under the supervision of a licensed real estate broker in this state for at least 1,500 hours, including no less than 4 real estate transactions during the three (3) years immediately preceding the date of application

Salesperson Continuing Education Requirements
- Salesperson licenses expire biennially on May 31st on even-numbered years
- Must complete 12 hours of continuing education biennially on even-numbered years, including a 3-hour mandatory course and 9 hours of electives
