Oklahoma Provisional Sales Associate Pre-Licensing Education Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- Provide proof of citizenship.
- Applicants convicted of felony crimes referenced in Title 59 Section 858-301.1 or 858-4000.1 may be ineligible to obtain an Oklahoma Real Estate License for a predetermined number of years. For clarification, please contact the Commission and/or review the cited section of law as referenced herein. The Commission will allow the applicant to seek preapproval prior to enrolling in a pre-license course.
- Complete a 90-hour pre-license salesperson course. Education expires within 3 years of completion.
- Complete a background check through IdentoGO.
- Apply online for a provisional sales associate license.
- Once all documents have been received and the application is approved, the applicant will receive further information regarding the required examination.
Oklahoma Provisional Sales Associate to Sales Associate Education Requirements
- A 45-hour post-licensing education course must be completed within one year of licensure, prior to license expiration date.
- Upon successful completion of education, licensees may transition to a sales associate.
Oklahoma Branch Broker, Broker Proprietor, or Managing Broker Pre-Licensing Education Requirements
- Current Oklahoma sales associate applicants must have 2 years’ active licensure within the previous 5 years as a sales associate or equivalent.
- Complete a 15 hour Oklahoma broker-in-charge course.
- Submit a change license request through the license portal.
- Upload a transaction experience waiver with your change license request.
Oklahoma Education Requirements for Applicants Licensed in Another Jurisdiction
Sales Associate
- Choose this license type if you currently or have previously held an active sales associate license in another state in the past five years.
- Complete at least one hour of continuing education in the following courses: Oklahoma Broker Relationship Act, Oklahoma Code and Rules, and Oklahoma Contract and Forms.
- Obtain a license certification history from all states in which a real estate license has been held.
- Schedule and complete a live-scan appointment with IdentoGO.
- Apply online for a sales associate license.
- Once all documents have been received and the application is approved the applicant will receive further information regarding the required examination.
- If you have been licensed in another state for less than two years, you will be required to take the salesperson national and state exam. If you have been licensed in another state for more than two years, you will be required to take the salesperson state-only exam.
Broker Associate, Branch Broker, or Broker
- Choose this license type if you currently or have previously held an active broker or broker associate license in another state in the past five years.
- Complete at least one hour of continuing education in the following courses: Oklahoma Broker Relationship Act, Oklahoma Code and Rules, and Oklahoma Contract and Forms.
- Obtain a license certification history from all states in which a real estate license has been held.
- Schedule and complete a live-scan appointment with IdentoGO.
- Apply online for a broker associate, branch broker, or broker license.
- Once all documents have been received and the application is approved the applicant will receive further information regarding the required examination.
- If you are applying with 2 years or more experience within the last five years with a license held from another state or you have any amount of experience in the last five years from the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, North Dakota or South Dakota—you may qualify to take the Oklahoma state-only examination through Pearson VUE. If you do not meet the above experience requirements, you will be required to take the full national and Oklahoma examination through Pearson VUE.
Resident Sales Associate and Broker Associate Continuing Education Requirements in OK
- Licensees renewing through May 31, 2025, may renew with 21 hours of continuing education credit.
- Licensees renewing after June 1, 2025 must complete 30 hours of continuing education credit.

- Licensees renewing through May 31, 2025, may renew with 21 hours of continuing education credit.
- Licensees renewing after June 1, 2025, must complete 30 hours of continuing education credit.
- 15 hours: Broker in Charge
- 6 hours: Contracts and Forms
- 9 hours: Elective
Non-Resident Sales Associate, Broker Associate, and Broker Continuing Education Requirements in OK
- Licensees renewing through May 31, 2025, may renew with 3 hours of continuing education credit.
- Licensees renewing after June 1, 2025, must complete 8 hours of continuing education credit.

- Once your application is approved by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission, applicants will receive a candidate ID number and exam scheduling link via email from Pearson VUE.
