Reciprocity
- North Carolina real estate licenses allow full reciprocity.

- 1. Pass the North Carolina state exam portion or take 90 hours (three, 30-hour courses) of post-licensing.
- Applicant’s choice of exam or post-licensing
- 2. Submit a criminal background check.

Military Portability
- The applicant has been awarded a military occupational specialty and has completed the following, meeting or exceeding the requirements for licensure, certification, or registration:
- Completed a military training program.
- Finished testing or equivalent training and experience.
- The applicant has actively practiced the occupation for at least 2 of the 5 years before the application date.
- The applicant has not committed any acts in any jurisdiction that would have warranted refusal, suspension, or revocation of a license to practice in this state and has no pending complaints.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have US citizenship or a green card.
- Complete 75 hours of prelicensing education.
- Complete a background check.
