Virtual Classroom Exam Proctoring Self-Enrollment

Please make selections using the form below. Upon hitting submit, you will be taken to the Kaplan Real Estate Education cart to select a date and time for your virtual exam classroom proctoring session. Please note that all proctoring session times listed will be Central Time (CT).

Virtual Proctoring sessions fill up in advance. If you fail to appear for your session, cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or are ineligible to test, your registration fee will NOT be refunded (North Carolina students will be charged $29) and you will need to enroll in a new session If you are more than 10 minutes late to your session, it will be counted as a failure to appear.

Please be aware there is a slight lag between when you select your session and when it is secured in our enrollment system. The enrollment process doesn't start until you proceed through the check out process. Any delay in checking out can lead to the session being booked by another student. Only select one session per order. Multiple sessions in your cart will not be processed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

What is Virtual Classroom Proctoring?

Some regulatory agencies require students to take a proctored, end-of-course final exam. In some instances, the exam must be proctored by the education provider.

Many states are now allowing for virtual classroom proctoring versus live in-person proctoring. Virtual proctoring works in much the same way, but instead of meeting your proctor in a physical classroom, your exam will be proctored in Kaplan’s virtual classroom.

How do I schedule my proctoring session with Kaplan Real Estate Education?

After completing your course, please use the form above to schedule a proctoring session in Kaplan's virtual classroom for a date and time that works for you, but is also within your course's access period. Your access period can be found within the Learning Management System (LMS) under each course on your home page. Please note that all proctoring session times listed will be Central Time (CT).

What happens on my virtually proctored exam day?

  1. You will be asked to enter the virtual classroom via the LMS at least five minutes before your session is scheduled to begin. Late-arriving students may be subject to a cancellation/rescheduling fee.
  2. You must download Zoom Desktop Client prior to your session and have a microphone, speakers or a headset, and a video camera (webcam). The proctor must be able to see and hear you at all times (and vice versa).
  3. You will be asked to scan your camera around your testing area so the proctor can confirm that you do not have any available exam aids (open books, additional monitors, etc.).
  4. You will be asked to share your screen so the proctor can confirm that you do not have additional browser tabs open that might aid in your exam.
  5. You must have a state-issued identification card (you will be asked to hold it up to your camera and show it to the proctor at the time of the exam so the proctor can confirm your identity).
  6. To launch your exam:
    • Live Online students will receive an exam password at the end of your course that must be used to access the exam (this does not apply to Texas students). This password must be entered in the presence of the proctor each time the exam is attempted.
    • Online Component, Correspondence Course With Video Review, OnDemand, and Online students will have access to the exam after the course is completed.
  7. Once in the exam, students will also need to fill out a proctor form via the virtual classroom in the LMS. The proctor must be present when filling this out.
  8. After passing the exam, both you and the proctor must read the affirmation statements and check the “I affirm” checkboxes to complete the exam attempt.
  9. You then must go back to the Dashboard and click the “Affidavit” icon. You must accept your affidavit to ensure your course is considered complete and so we can process and release your completion certificate.
  10. Your proctor should give you permission to exit the virtual classroom. Closing the virtual classroom browser window/tab will exit you from the virtual classroom.

What if I do not pass the first time?

  1. Each state sets the number of attempts allowed for the exam. No matter how many attempts are allowed, each one must be proctored and will feature different questions. If you are unsuccessful on an exam attempt, you must enroll in a new proctoring session for your subsequent exam attempt.
  2. To schedule a new proctoring session for additional attempts, please revisit this form.
